Tyler Whittington

My name is Tyler Whittington, and I was born and raised in Amite County, MS. My passion for the outdoors started at the age of 2 when my dad cut two leg holes in the bottom of a camouflage backpack and carried me through a cutover for my first deer hunt. I spent most of my childhood chasing deer and turkeys, wade fishing Hominy Creek, or shooting squirrels in the oak flat behind my grandfather’s house.

After high school, I moved off to the big city of Baton Rouge, LA where I earned a B.S. in Construction Management from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) After graduating from LSU in 2018, I spent the next 4 years working as a project engineer for one of the largest commercial contractors in Louisiana building everything from dormitories to courthouses. In 2021, I decided to move back home to Mississippi, and I dipped my toes into the land management business which gave me plenty of hands-on experience and knowledge of what it takes to develop and maintain recreational properties for both hunting and new construction.

All of these experiences ultimately led me to my current position as a land agent with United Country – Southern States Realty. There are many options when it comes to picking a brokerage to work for, but for me the choice was easy. Southern States Realty consistently ranks as one of the top United Country brokerages in the nation year after year. Between our vast network of expert agents and brokers and our well-developed marketing strategies, I am confident that no other brokerage in our area is better equipped to sell your property and sell it quickly than United Country – Southern States Realty.

People always say that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. I never understood that saying until I started my career in real estate. Nothing is more satisfying for me than seeing the smile on someone’s face when they realize they have found their dream property. I am passionate about what I do, and I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve their real estate goals. If you are thinking about buying or selling hunting and timberland, I encourage you to give me a call so we can discuss the best way to turn your dream into a reality.
