If you’re not already familiar with Northern New Mexico hunting, now is a great time to read up on it. I’m Melissa Clark and I’ve owned property and lived in Chama, NM for the past 20 years. Eighteen years in the outfitting business and 16 years in the local real estate business has given me an advantage on available hunting properties for sale in Northern NM. I am extremely familiar with the local and surrounding areas, as well as, the land owner permitting system with NM Game and Fish. Chama is renowned for its trophy elk hunting, mule deer hunting, merriam turkey hunting and excellent trout fishing. Located just 12 miles from the Colorado border, we are in close proximity to both the Rio Grande and Carson National Forests. For folks who aren’t interested in buying their own piece of hunting or fishing land, New Mexico Game and Fish allows residents and non-residents to apply for draw permits. The deadline is March 22, 2017 for all applications. Access to the permitting system can be found online at www.wildlife.state.nm.us.
