HARWDOOD FOREST The land is a nearly square 42± acres of mostly hardwood forest land. Maples, beech, birches and other hardwood predominate the landscape. This is middle aged forest with most trees between 4 and 12 inches dba. The land is moderately to gently sloping with elevations lying between 700 and 800 FASL.

According to NRCS mapping the majority of the soils are Dixmont stoney silt loam. This soil type is of very deep, moderately well drained, and somewhat poorly drained soils. It grows northern hardwoods and pine well and when cleared of trees and stones can also be good for grazing crops, think about where you want your next food plot.

PRENTISS – AKA T7 R3 NBPP is a rural community and an unorganized territory in eastern Penobscot County. The town has a population of approximately 170. The town is mostly undeveloped timberland, nearly all of which is held privately with a few small farms scattered around the township. The nearest service towns to Prentiss would be Springfield 13 miles, Danforth 16 miles, and Lincoln 30 miles away.

NEARBY PLACES OF INTEREST – Prentiss is located less than 40 miles by car to the New Brunswick Canada border crossing. This area is home to East Grand Lake and Spednic Lake which are two of the largest lakes in Maine. From this location a day trip to Grand Lake Stream and West Grand Lake is easy and it is less than 1 ½ hours away from the northern coast of Maine.
