Scott Reece – Associate Broker at United Country Colorado Real Colorado Properties

Born in Apple Valley California to a young and energetic couple with a sense for adventure, Scott spent his younger years sharing time between the high California deserts and the sand and surf of the Southern California coast. The fast-paced city life was a great practice field for learning the skills that would be necessary to succeed in all the future endeavors that life would throw at him. The sun and surf was soon a fading memory though, as fate would have it, the Reece’s pulled roots and rambled to Colorado in pursuit of new experiences and hope for a simpler way of life.

A brave new world learning the basics of Colorado ranching, hunting and fishing

At the age of 13, Scott was thrust into a completely foreign world when his parents up and left California and settled in Basalt, Colorado. Somewhat of a stranger to the country ways, Scott soon found out what mountain living was all about. Harvesting firewood and big game in the fall soon became second nature in preparing for some hard and cold winters, which he had previously never experienced. Bucking hay bales, chasing cows and learning to handle a horse were new skills that his friends had a good laugh teaching him. During the winter months, skiing became a must. With the best mountains in North America only minutes away and lift tickets only being $7, Scott had found a sport that he would share with many and still does to this day. The Colorado lifestyle has become branded in Scott’s soul and one that he offers to share with all that come in contact with him.

Experience in luxury homes, ranches and high mountain living

After a stint at Colorado State University, Scott jumped into the world of construction. With nearly 40 years in the construction trades, he has seen and participated in a vast number of high-end projects from multi-million dollar homes in downtown Aspen to expansive ranches from Telluride to Vail. Not only has Scott been involved in these types of projects, but he has also been involved in many of the projects that have become the heartbeat of the Roaring Fork and Vail Valleys. From the commercial complexes to many of the golf communities and subdivisions, Scott has been there to see and experience the expansion of what was once small town America. His knowledge of the local land and people presents a keen value proposition for anyone that would seek his service.

Joining forces with United Country Real Estate

The next step seemed natural–apply those years of experience and knowledge of the western Colorado landscape and serve those looking to buy, sell, develop and use the land to its highest and best use. The United Country marketing platforms are ideally suited to the types of Western Colorado real estate that Scott finds interesting–custom homes, country estates, horse properties, mountain cabins, hunting land, ranches, development land, and also commercial property.

Hunting, skiing, trail running, family, kids, and grandkids

An avid archery hunter, Scott has enjoyed terrific success on elk, mule deer, and bear. He is also a trail runner and avid skier. He and his wife Kathy are very committed to their five adult children and their families, spending time with lots of grandkids. Although they reside in the mountains north of Glenwood Springs, they own a short-term rental property in Hotchkiss and have a good deal of experience with the short-term rental platforms.
