At the top there are two areas that are gently sloping towards steeper areas. Those locations would be the best location for a cabin or tent site. With the removal of some trees the views towards Lombard Lake and the west are impressive. This is an area where during a moonless night, the stars would seem to be just out of reach of your grasp from the top of Lombard Mountain. Lakeville is a small, rural town in Penobscot County, and it is known as having one of the lowest tax rates in the entire state. Lakeville has a year-round population of approximately 105 individuals.
