There is a Memorial Forest on the east side of Tea Lake which is owned by the riparian owners who own stock in the non-profit corporation and pay the annual real estate tax and filing of the annual report with the state of WI. Our annual fee was $160 which we paid in early January. Riparian owners are encouraged to be a shareholder in the Memorial Forest but it is not mandatory. Also, a cabin owner (Judy Moll) collects the annual fee from each cabin owner to remove beavers and beaver dams in Whisky Creek which flows from Tea Lake to Coffee Lake to maintain beaches on Tea Lake and the integrity of the bridge. We also have a local man (Dale Guerin) who we pay annually to check the properties monthly to ensure there are no break-ins or trees downed on roads and cabins. Dale will remove trees and limbs on the road around the lake as part of his fee. The last annual fees we paid (which cover 2025) were $115 (per riparian owner) for Dale’s services and $202 for beaver control.
We have a comprehensive “best practices” document which is maintained by property owner Sharon Fuller who is president of the Memorial Forest. I will email to you the latest version in a separate email. (see document in documents tab)
